Membership 2025-26

As we are all aware, costs in all areas of our day-to-day lives have been increasing, and it is no different for the costs of running our group.

Membership fees contribute to the running of the group and are put towards training and support materials for tutors to use and activities such as the delivery of the popular technical talks which not only work as promoting road safety, but also growing our membership.

We, the committee, appreciate your support and commitment to the continued effort to improve road safety and hope you will be able to provide the financial support to enable this to continue.

Membership types, Fees and Application Form:

Associate Member:
Untrained driver / rider who is either working toward or does not wish to take the advanced test.
£45 for 12 months from date of joining or renewal
Full Member:
Trained driver / rider who has passed the advanced test since April 2022.
£25 due on 1st April
Affiliate Member:
Trained driver / rider who has passed the advanced test and no longer wishes to take the 3-yearly re-test.
£25 due on 1st April
Honorary Member:
The Group may grant the status of honorary member in specific circumstances largely intended to reward persons in recognition of substantial and long-standing contributions to the Group. Nominations for honorary membership are to be approved by the Committee before final approval at a general meeting.

Important Cancelled Membership Note - June 2025
Dear members
It has just come to our attention that a number of members (around 600 nationally) have been notified that their RoADAR membership has been cancelled.
I have spoken with Andy Nixon at RoSPA HQ. He has said that this problem has just come to their notice and is due to a new RoSPA computer system. They are in the process of re-setting the system to try to resolve this. How long this will take is unclear at this time.
If you are one of those who has received this notification (or similar) please let me know. Also, please update me when you receive any update communications from RoADAR in regards to how the resolution is proceeding. Anybody to whom this has happened since September 2024 should be re-instated without the need for a re-test. How the organisation will resolve anything prior to this we will have to wait and see.
